HANDLES

What about our handles? How can I make sure I get my proper handles at IMC?
Everyone has a strong attachment to their specific handle or handles. Handle-hogging is discouraged. (It's not fair to go making a ton of handles for Forgotten Realms characters if you only play Star Wars and Marvel, for example.)

Any handle which is not from source material may be requested through the handle submission form. Because we process these manually, it may take up to 48 hours to get handles added. Source handles can only be assigned to your account by a host, and can be grounds for a add-handle suspension if you attempt to apply for them via the add-handle form.

Then the room host will fill out the appropriate form which will eventually get to the Handles SysOp for processing. Such handles will be distributed to the right people, but you have to go through your room host for such things. Remember to ask them politely and via email.

How can I play the character if I haven't received the handle yet?
We don't expect you to be waiting long! In the meantime, you can use HTML coding in your taglines to bold face, italicize, underline or color-distinguish. Thus you can distinctly indicate the name of the character you are playing, by inserting phrases into your tagline:

Your MUN name is CHARACTER NAME

I had this handle on another chat system, why can't I have it here?
We're allowing people to have handles for original characters on a first-come, first-served basis, via the add-handle form. We will not give you a source handle without the room host's request.

Even if you had the handle "Darth Vader" or "Captain Kirk" on another chat system, that does not give you any sort of right to the handle here, unless the room host gives it to you. Those handles will belong to the room in which they fit, and as assigned by room's host.
